Paul Eugene (Buddy) Johnson, 68, passed away on March 2, 2012, from a heart attack at his home in Nashville, Tenn., where he has lived for more than 40 years. He grew in Jasper, and had many friends from Walker High School and Walker College.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Kathryn Johnson; and grandparents, Bob and Beulah Butler and Minus and Lily Johnson.

He is survived by his three children, Scott (Angela) Johnson, Kim (Shannon) Pirtle and David (Kathleen) Johnson; three grandchildren, David, Danni and Debbie; two brothers, George and Bobby (Shirley); and sister, Becky Johnson Mickis.

A memorial celebration will be held at Veteran’s Park in Alabaster at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012. The family requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made at Regions Bank to the “Memorial Fund for Gene Buddy Johnson” for his grandchildren’s college education.
