Roberts-Allred

Freddie and Ginny Roberts of Jasper are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Jo Roberts, to Brandon Lee Allred, son of Billy and Lee Anna Allred and Carl and Melissa O’Neal of Jasper.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Clyde Roberts, Winston and Cloerene Ashcraft of Vernon, and the late Or. R.B. (Pete) and Jo Cox of Florence.

Becca is a 2005 graduate of Curry High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of North Alabama, where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She currently works as a registered nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Jerry and the late Pat Sherer, and Barabara and the late James Allred, all of Jasper.

Brandon is also a 2005 graduate of Curry High School. He is employed with Service Construction Supply in Birmingham.

The wedding will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Huckleberry Farm in Jasper.

Cooner-Sheldon

Thomas and Dawn Cooner, together with Gary and Tammy Sheldon, are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Melissa Lynn Cooner of Blissfield, Mich., and Jeston Alan Sheldon of Blissfield, Mich.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Carol Annette (Shurbitt) Tackett of Jasper and the late Estil Tackett of Kentucky, and Mary and David Fischer of Blissfield, Mich.

She is a 2004 graduate of Blissfield High School, a 2010 graduate of Jackson Community College with an associate’s in applied science, business administration and certificate in management, and a 2011 graduate of Siena Heights University with a bachelor of business administration. She is currently employed as a employment advisor at South Central Michigan Works — Lenawee Service Center since 2008.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Lloyd Sheldon and the late Shirlee Sheldon of Blissfield, Mich., Shirley (Willnow) Williams of Adrian, Mich. and Harvey and Wanda Williams of Shelbyville, Tenn.

He is a 2005 graduate of Blissfield High School. He is currently employed as the machining coordinator at Ididit, Inc. in Tecumseh, Mich., since July 2005. He is currently a machinist apprentice working toward a journeyman machinist card.

The wedding will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Blissfield, Mich.



Bagwell - Goforth

Gail Carlisle and Joey Bagwell, both of Ragland, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Bagwell, to Alex Goforth, the son of Robin and Carl Goforth of Jasper.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gilbert and Pat Pope, and Johnnie Bagwell, all of Ragland.

She was a valedictorian and graduate of Ragland High School, she earned a bachelor of science in exercise science at the University of West Alabama where she also played four years of softball, and earned an associate’s degree at Jefferson State Community College. She is currently employed at Champion Partners in Rehab, and works at Fayette Medical Center as a licensed physical therapist assistant.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Herbert and Genella Goforth of Jasper, Ed Goforth and the late Dorothy Goforth and step-grandmother, the late Lovell Goforth.

He is a 2005 graduate of Walker High School. He is currently employed with Norfolk Southern Railroad in Irondale.

The wedding will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Huckleberry Farm in Jasper.

Kirkpatrick-Loeb

Barry and Brenda Kirkpatrick of Cordova announce the engagement of their daughter, Krista Lea Kirkpatrick, to Matthew Alexander Loeb, the son of Robert and Lee Loeb of Meridian, Miss.

Miss Kirkpatrick is the granddaughter of Mrs. Geraldine Kirkpatrick and the late James Kirkpatrick of Cordova, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Grady Jackson of Crane HillL. 

The bride-elect received a master’s degree from the University of Alabama in gifted education and a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in elementary education. She is a graduate of Cordova High School in Cordova. She is currently employed at Davis Magnet Elementary School in Jackson, Miss. 

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Beatrice Loeb and the late Robert Loeb, Sr. of Meridian and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Wright, Sr. of Tuscaloosa. 

He received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering with a minor in mathematics from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Miss. He is a graduate of Lamar High School. Mr. Loeb is currently employed in Jackson, Miss. and will be attending the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in the fall. 

The wedding will be Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 6 p.m., at Saint Andrews Cathedral in Jackson, Miss. 

A reception will be held at the Eudora Welty Commons in Jackson, Miss. 



Lee-Smith

Sammy and Deliska Lee of Jasper are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Brianna (Bree) Lee of Birmingham, to Jason Smith of Birmingham, the son of Larry and Sheila Smith of Sylvan Springs.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Paul and Faye Pittman, Beulah Lee and the late Tracie Lee, all of Winfield.

She is a 1996 graduate of Walker High School and a 2000 graduate of Samford University. She is currently employed with Sterne Agee Investment Advisors.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Nathel and Jean Hyche of Coaling, Virginia Smith and the late Charles Smith of Sylvan Springs.

He is a 1995 graduate of Hueytown High School, and attended Shelton State Community College and the University of Alabama. He is the owner of Smith Construction and Develpoment, LLC.

The wedding will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Rancho de las Aguilas in Birmingham.
