Bagwell-Goforth

Gail Carlisle and Joey Bagwell, both of Ragland, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Bagwell, to Alex Goforth, the son of Robin and Carl Goforth of Jasper.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gilbert and Pat Pope, and Johnnie Bagwell, all of Ragland.

She was a valedictorian and graduate of Ragland High School. She earned a bachelor of science in exercise science at the University of West Alabama where she also played four years of softball, and earned an associate’s degree at Jefferson State Community College.She is currently employed at Champion Partners in Rehab, works at Fayette Medical Center as a licensed physical therapist assistant.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Herbert and Genella Alexander of Jasper, Ed Goforth and the late Dorothy Goforth and step-grandmother, the late Lovell Goforth.

He is a 2005 graduate of Walker High School. He is currently employed with Norfolk Southern Railroad in Irondale.

The wedding will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Huckleberry Farm in Jasper.

Taylor-Henslee

Dr. Andre and Mrs. Jeanette Taylor of Cherokee are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Leigh Taylor, to J.D. Henslee, the son of Davy and Karen Henslee of Cherokee.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Elizabeth and the late Jack Taylor, and the late Albert and the late Eltie Wallace, all of Cherokee.

She is a 2008 valedictorian of Cherokee High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of North Alabama with a B.B.A. She was the recipient of the Keller Key award. Taylor is currently employed with DMD as an accountant in Madison.

The prospective groom is the grandson of J.D. and Dolores Henslee of Jasper, and Howard and Avoline White of Jasper. He is a 2006 graduate of Cherokee High School, He attended NorthWest Shoals Community College and is currently a member of the IBEW Local 558. He is currently employed with Cache Valley Electric.

The wedding will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday. May 12, 2012, at the home of Dr. Andre and Jeanette Taylor.

Sides-Butts

Stephen and Sandy Sides, David and Jessica Noles of Jasper, and the late Savannah Faith Sides, sister of the bride, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Danielle Sides, to Casey Andrew Butts, the son of Willard and Melissa Pettit of Albertville, and Wayne Butts of Jasper.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jay and Dianne Grace of Jasper, and Ron and Jeanette Sides of Jasper.

She is a 2008 graduate of Curry High school and is attending Bevill State Community College. She is currently employed at The Home Depot.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Rayburn and Myrna Garner of Carbon Hill, and Ruby and the late Buell Butts of Jasper. He is a 2007 graduate of Curry High School. He is currently employed with Winfield Equipment Rentals.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Clear Creek Recreational Area.

George and Donna Hicks of Pumpkin Center are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Derian Hicks, to Heath Garrett, the son of Cheryl and Dan Sanford of Cordova, and Randall and Donna Garrett of Cordova.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Luther Jr. and the late Arlene Bruner of Cordova, Billy Powell and Norma Garrett of Oakman, and Jeff and Barbara Sanford of Sumiton.

He is a 2010 graduate of Cordova High School. He is currently employed with Mineral Labs in Hueytown.
