He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Ray Williams; mother, Lilian Williams; brothers, Jackie Chesser and Sam Chesser; sister, Sadie Henry; and son, Robert Chesser.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Chesser; special friend, Jeanette Shaw; daughter, Melisa Johnson; sons, Fred R. Chesser Jr. and Joseph W. Chesser; sisters, Billy Ballentine, Estelle Kornegay, Ruby Little and Glenda Williams; brothers, Charles Chesser and Huey Chesser; and three grandchildren.
