Shanna DeLane Wright, 45, of Carbon Hill, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 10, 2012. She was surrounded by her friends, family and loving parents. She left this world for a home in heaven where she can finally walk those streets of gold.

Shanna was born on May 29, 1966. She is the daughter of Alfred and Sue Wright. She attended Carbon Hill High School. She loved God and faithfully attended Highway 5 Church of God. She cared about others deeply. This shows in the many phone calls and cards that she sent to those in her community. She was a loyal fan of her beloved Crimson Tide. Through the many trials in her life, she has been an example of courage, hope and faith. There are few people who can touch our hearts the way Shanna has. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her parents, Alfred and Sue Wright of Carbon Hill.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Bertha Harbin, and Dee and Bessie Wright, all of Carbon Hill.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, May 12, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services for Shanna will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Burial will follow a Carbon Hill Memorial Gardens. Richard Harbin Jr. and Phillip Noles will officiate.

God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best.
