Ann Hamilton Robinson, 79, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012. She was a native and life long resident of Jasper. Ann was a 1950 graduate of Walker High School before attending Auburn University where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Ann was active in many and varied charitable, civic and political activities. A founding member of the Crescent Junior Study Club of Jasper. Ann was also a scouting leader plus a strong supporter and participant in Memorial Park PTA for many years. As a faithful member of the United Methodist Church, Ann was a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church in Jasper, where she served in many roles including as a Sunday School teacher and Administrative Board Member. Ann also co-founded Christ United Methodist Church's Mother's Day Out Program and eventually served as its administrator. Ann worked on multiple committees and was a frequent delegate from the Jasper District of the United Methodist Church to the North Alabama District Conference. Ann had many interests including music, travel and entertaining. She was an avid bridge player and cross word puzzle enthusiast. Ann was, of course, devoted to her family.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Joel Patrick Robinson Jr.; her parents, John Eric Hamilton and Agnes Scruggs Hamilton Nelson; and step-father, Clyde Patton Nelson; brother, John Eric Hamilton Jr.; and step-son, Joel Browning Robinson.

She is survived by her son, Jon Patton Robinson and his wife, Jadonna, of Charleston, S.C.; son, Christopher Lee Robinson and his wife, Staci, of McCalla; daughter, Jolie Robinson Harris and her husband, George Harris Sr., of Vestavia Hills; brother, Pat Nelson and his wife, Becky, of Jasper; and her special cousin, Sandra Brown Saddler. Mrs. Robinson's grandchildren are Emily Ann Robinson of Tuscaloosa, Jon Wesley Robinson and his wife, Kelsey, of Tuscaloosa, Ann Emory Harris, Lillie Ben Harris, George Bryan Harris, Jr., Maximus Alexander Harris and Jon Todd Hamilton Harris of Vestavia Hills, Nia Imani Robinson of McCalla; and also great-grandchildren, Kaden Austin Woodruff and Emily Peyton Robinson; nieces, Beth Nelson, Ann Patton Nelson Hornthal and Rebecca Nelson Cosmiano; and nephew, John Eric Hamilton III.

Mrs. Robinson received special care at the end of her life by caretakers Barbara Hogan, Teresa Jones and Hazel Cagle.

Pallbearers will be Judge Hoyt Elliott Jr., Judge Doug Farris, Dr. Tom Camp, Dr. Dick Dabbs, Joe Hudson, Bill Adair and Lang Hornthal.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m and the funeral will be noon in the Chapel at Kilgore Green Funeral Home today, May 18, 2012.
