According to Investigator Jimmy Vann, Jasper police received a call from a local bank saying someone in the drive-thru was attempting to cash one of the victim’s checks. As Jasper police approached and attempted to converge on the scene, the suspects got spooked and fled.
Vann said one officer was able to follow the car, carrying three males, to a place in West Jasper, where they got out of the car and fled on foot. One was taken into custody at the vehicle, while the other two were taken into custody after a pursuit.
The men arrested were Billy Wayne Boteler, 30; Jared Allen Wolfe, 25, and Eddie Jerome Gann, 51. Boteler will be charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree theft and possession of a forged instrument. Wolfe and Gann were not present at the actual robbery and will each be charged with possession of a forged instrument.
According to Vann, tips, teamwork and the help of the fire marshal enabled officers to capture the female suspect, Kimberly Ann Selman, 25. She will be charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree theft.
