James “Haskel Stevens”, 74, of Cordova. He was born in Alabama on Aug. 17, 1937. He passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. After retiring from Calumet surface Hardening in Hammond, Ind. He wanted to come home to Alabama to live. Stevens was a member of the Church of Christ in Cordova. He enjoyed fishing and flying remote control airplanes also, he loved being with family and friends. He had two very special friends, Faye Brown and John Underwood. He will be greatly missed by all of us and sugar his cat too.

Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2012, at Corinth Church of Christ prior to services. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Corinth Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

He was preceded in death by her parents, Richard H. and Roxie A. Stevens; brothers, Paul E. Stevens and Herschel L. Stevens; and sister, Mary R. Guy.

He is survived by his son, James S. Stevens; brothers, Harold D. Stevens of Cordova and Larry N. Stevens of Thayer, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
