He was a retired locomotive engineer with Illinois Central Railroad and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in Africa and Italy. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Kay Strong Harris; two daughters, Vonda Midyett of Lone Oak, Kent. and Linda Moore of Eddyville, Kent.; one son, Frank Harris of Paducah, Kent.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Byrd and Maudie Mae Drummond Harris.
Funeral and burial services were held in Paducah, Kent.
