Joann Short Ingle, 69, of Jasper, went home to heaven on Monday, June, 4, 2012.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 10 a.m. to noon at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at noon in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery on the Sipsey Cut-Off Road. Bro. Wayne Williams and James Wright will officiate.

Ingle was a resident at Shadescrest Healthcare for 24 years, and she loved her caregivers and they in turn loved her. She engaged in all activities joyfully, especially when the Sonshine Singers came and she could sing along. No one could even think about trying to beat her to the Bingo game as well. She was plagued with many health problems throughout her life, including polio as a child, but never let it interfere with her zest for living. She was always a joy to her family and friends.

Ingle was preceded in death by her husband, Pervie Ingle; parents, Gilbert and Essie Short; sister, Willodean Akins.

She is survived by her son, Daniel Ingle; daughter, Lynda Baker; granddaughters, Kisha and Tia Baker; great grandson, Mark Harris; sisters, Olene Simmons, Ruby Hatcher, Helen Nixon and Judy East (Kenneth); brother, James Short (Doris); numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Shadescrest Healthcare and Southern Care Hospice. Memorials may be made to Helping Hands; 2960 Curry Hwy; Jasper, AL 35503.
