Chester L. King, 87, of Parrish, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Shadescrest Health Care in Jasper. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012, at Odom Memorial Cemetery in Parrish. Bobby Smith will officiate. There will be no visitation.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Sue; daughter, Kathy; grandson, Bruce; brothers, Eddie and Tony; and son-in-law, John Zukosky.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Schimdt; son-in-law, John Schmidt; daughter, Karen Weeks; son-in-law, Jim Weeks; son, David Kniaz; daughter-in-law, Gloria Kniaz; step daughter, Judy Darnell; step son-in-law, Tim Darnell; step daughter, Anne Zukosky; step son, Steve Stone; step daughter-in-law, Linda Stone; brother-in-law and best friend, Clarence Gurganus (Linda); sister-in-law, Louise Chastain; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
