Jasper police are investigating an alleged robbery which took place outside a west Jasper convenience store Wednesday.

Lt. Justin Tidwell, second shift supervisor at Jasper Police Department, said an armed robbery was reported by a Jasper man Wednesday around 4 p.m.

Jasper police responded to the Ice House West off Highway 69 South to investigate the incident. Tidwell said details on the incident are scarce at this point.

“Because this is an ongoing investigation, there isn’t a lot of information that we can release at this time,” Tidwell said. “As soon as more information is available, we will inform the public.”

Tidwell said police are asking anyone who may have noticed an incident Wednesday afternoon in the area of the Ice House to contact the Jasper Police Department at 205-221-6790.

“We always welcome any information from the public,” Tidwell said.
