Arrests made in west Jasper break-in

Jasper Police have arrested two people in connection with a burglary that occurred in June at Henslee Auto Body Shop in west Jasper, but they still searching for one of the three vehicles that was taken during the crime.

Jasper Police Captain Mike Clark said Michael Dylan Tittle, 18, of Jasper and Jerry Monroe Thomas, 19, of Jasper have both been arrested and charged with burglary for their connection with the crime that reportedly occurred at the body shop, which is located on West 17th Street in Jasper. The incident happened sometime over the weekend of June 9-10.

During the course of their crime, the two men allegedly took a handgun and three vehicles — a 2002 GMC Sierra crew cab, and a sliver 2006 Mazda, which belonged to customers, and a 1970 Chevy Chevelle Super Sport, which belonged to the owner of the body shop.

“We have recovered two the vehicles, but we’re still looking for the truck,” Jasper Police Detective Sgt. Danny Hyde said.
