He is survived by his sons, Jerry Mickey Jr. and Clint Austin, and their mother, Carol; daughter, Samantha Louise; son, Denver Austin, and their mother, Karen; grandchildren, Clint Austin Hobbs Jr., Gage Ethen Hobbs, Haley Ann Hobbs, Cadence Lyric Hobbs and Karen Gigi Olson. Also surviving him is his brother, James D. Hobbs (Gale); sisters, Joyce Ann Morgan (Jerry), Doris Charlette Estell (Gene) and Debra Haney (Roger); and numerous nieces and nephews, too many to mention. Jerry also leaves behind an extended family, his beloved Rebecca Jones, her family and his faithful companion, ‘das Boots.’
He was preceded in death by his father, John Denver Hobbs; mother, Vivian Ida Hobbs Bowling; sister, Barbara Hobbs Caterson; and brother, Arnold Hobbs.
Jerry served in the United States Army and he lived his life “For God and Country.” He was a member of the Sally Post 43 in Homestead and the L.O.O.M. 2258 in Leisure City.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 1 p.m. at American Legion Post 43, located at 399 South Krome Avenue.
