Vera Bridgmon Jenkins, 90, of Jasper, passed away on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at her residence. She was a devoted, loving Mother, a friend to all and a lifelong resident of Blackwater-Macedonia Community. She was an avid gardener who loved working in her garden.

Visitation will be from 2 until 3 p.m. today, Aug. 15, 2012, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home prior to services. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will follow at Libery Grove Cemetery. Todd Hunter will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, W.R. “Bill” Jenkins; father and mother, Amos and Emma Bridgmon; brothers, Elmon Bridgmon, Floyd Bridgmon, Roy Bridmon, Henry “Rocky” Bridgmon, Thomas “Tank” Bridgmon and Silvester “Beck” Bridgmon; and sisters, Nora Dutton, Cora Bates and Ida Brown; and several special nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son, Ray Jenkins and his wife, Cathie, of Jasper; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Steve Johnson and the staff of Southeast Hospice for their kindness and care.
