Dudley Ellis, 73, of Jasper, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at his residence.

Visitation will be today, Aug. 19, from 1 until 2 p.m. in the parlor at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral services will be today, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will be in Walker Memory Gardens. Dr. Fred Lackey officiating. Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing.

He was a retired heavy equipment service technician with Gateway Mining for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ellis; sisters, Mary Roddam and husband John, Alice Salter, and Dorothy Pforte; brother, Harry Ellis; sister-in-law, Eliose Green and husband Leroy; and brothers-in-law, Leon Reeves, Wayne Reeves, and Leslie Falkenberry.

He is survived by his brother, Eddie Ellis and wife Nancy of Century, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Betty Ellis of Evergreeen, Doris Castleberry and husband David of Castleberry, Juanita Jernigan and husband Nova Leigh of Pensacola, Fla., Mary Falkenberry of Axis, Janella Baggett and husband Kenneth of Repton, and Hazel Reeves of Wilsonville; special nephew, John Pforte and wife Deana of Marianna, Fla.; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Cecil Northcutt; and the best caregivers ever, Lisa Dickerson, Evon East, Linda Miller, Jeanne Morland, and Johnnie South.
