Joel Dale Stines, 42, of Fayette, passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at his residence. Visitation was Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, from 5 until 7 p.m. in the parlor at Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral services were Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel with Vernon Prescott officiating. Burial was in the New Oak Grove Cemetery in Nauvoo. Collins-Burke Funeral Home directed.

Joel was always a happy person and loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed his hobbies of fishing, pocket knives, and Alabama football.

He was preceded in death by his father, Travis Ray Stines; and mother, Alice Faye McCullar Stines.

He is survived by his brothers, Jeffrey Stines and Jeremy Stines; and aunts, Cherry F. Bigham and Sue Farley.
