CENTER POINT — The Curry Yellow Jackets were looking to pick up their first region win Friday night as they took on the Center Point Eagles.

Miscues and turnovers plagued the Yellow Jackets for the entire game. They fell to the Eagles 21-0.

The Yellow Jackets forced a turnover on the Eagles’ opening drive to set up shop first and ten at the 50-yard line. The Yellow Jackets picked up a couple of first downs on their opening drive, but a costly turnover by Jesse Breed gave the ball back to the Eagles on their own 15 yard line.

The Eagles got on the board with 9:09 in the second quarter when Elijay Farley walked in from one yard out for the score. He also added a two-point conversion run to put the Eagles up 8-0.

The Eagles added another score late in the second quarter. Keilan Knight found a wide open Sherman Starks on a 70 yard touchdown strike. The extra point was good and the Eagles went into the half up 15-0.

Curry received the kickoff to open up the second half, but another costly fumble would give the Eagles the ball back on the Yellow Jackets’ 32 yard line. The Eagles’ drive would stall out, following a fumble by Knight.

Both teams would trade three and out drives throughout most of the third quarter. Center Point would finally cap off their night with a eight yard touchdown pass from Knight to Starks.

The biggest bright spot for the Jackets’ tonight was on the defensive side of the ball. Joseph Rigsby finished the night with nine tackles.

Offensively for the Jackets, Bradley Loggins finished the night 14 of 26 for 125 yards and two interceptions. He was sacked five times in the game as well.

Curry (1-1,0-1) looks to rebound next Friday night at home against Mortimer Jordan, which is another region game for the Jackets.
