Lester Edward ‘Eddie’ Wallace, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper. Eddie was born on May 16, 1945, in Winston County to James Edward and Lola Cummings Wallace. He was a resident of Winston County until moving to Eldridge three years ago. He graduated high school in Winston County and attended Bevill State Community College in Hamilton. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and spent his working days in the mobile home manufacturing industry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Anna Lou Phillips and Nellie Sue Edmunds; a brother, Walter Charles Wallace; and a nephew, David Robby Edmunds.

He is survived by his two step-nieces, Donna Farris and Ellen Lindsey; two great-nieces, Rachel and Christy Edmunds; special friends and caretakers, Richard and Carrie Colburn; and his church family at Eldridge United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. today, Sept. 11, 2012, at McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 6 p.m. with the Rev. John Mooney officiating. Burial will follow on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Lynn City Cemetery.
