Sheila Ann Pittman, 65, of Empire, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center-Princeton in Birmingham. She was a credit manager for many years at Country Gas Co., and was a member of Sumiton First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Nelson Kimberly will officiate. Burial will follow at New Canaan Cemetery in Empire. Visitation will be Friday from 11:30 a.m.until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ethelene Stewart; and her brother, Terry “Ted” Stewart.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jerry Pittman; her son, Randy Pittman and wife, Lisa, all of Empire; brothers, Jerome (Phyllis) Stewart of Warrior, Jerry (Beatrice) Stewart of Sumiton, Donald Gene (Ingrid) Stewart of Jasper and John (Darlene) Stewart of Gardendale; several nieces, nephews, other family members; and a host of friends.
