After leading 31-14 in the second half, the Yellow Jackets struggled to contain quarterback Jaylyne Rhone. He finished the night with 181 yards on the ground, with 107 of those yards coming in the fourth quarter alone. And he finished with three rushing touchdowns and one touchdown through the air.
The Yellow Jackets led 17-6 at the half following a nine-yard touchdown pass from Bradley Loggins to Houston Harbin.
Loggins finished the night with 198 yards through the air on 16 of 27 passing. He threw two touchdowns and a interception in the loss.
Harbin finished the night with four catches 62 yards and a touchdown.
With 7:23 left in the third quarter, the Jackets increased their lead to 24-6 following a 20 yard touchdown run by Terry Pruitt. The extra point was good.
Pruitt rushed for 149 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown.
After the Tigers cut into the lead 24-14, the Jackets scored on a 47 yard pass play from Loggins to Jared Owens to extend the lead to 31-14.
The fourth quarter belonged to the Tigers’ Rhone.
He scored on runs of 1, 54,and 40 yards to close out the game. The last scoring drive came with 3:47 left in the game.
The Jackets had one last chance, but Harbin was intercepted by Charly Parvin to kill the drive.
The Jackets fell to 1-5 on the year and 0-4 in the region. The Jackets are at home next week in another region game with Pinson Valley.
