Carbon Hill falls to 0-7

WEST BLOCTON — Jaylon Gaines rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns and Trace Wilder rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns as West Blocton rolled to a 42-14 Class 4A, Region 4 victory over Carbon Hill Friday night.

Gaines scored on runs of 2 and 64 yards, while Wilder’s touchdowns occurred on runs of 74 and 49 yards. Behind the rushing duo, the Tigers piled up 460 yards on the ground.

Brody Medders added a 14-yard touchdown run for West Blocton and Leonard Ward scored on a 61-yard run.

West Blocton (2-4, 1-4) travels to Bibb County next Friday.

Carbon Hill (0-7, 0-5) hosts Corner next week.
