Lester Eugene Roberts, 79, of Empire died on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Cordova Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in New Canaan Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Williams will officiate. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, Oct. 15, 2012, at the funeral home.

Preceding him in death were his father and mother, Lester and Annie Mae Roberts; brother, Buddy Roberts; sister-in-law, Novella Roberts; brother-in-law, Delano Busby; and nephew, Butch Busby.

Survivors include his sister, Helen Mayberry and her husband, Thurman of Sumiton; brothers, Billy Joe Roberts and his wife, Joyce of Dora, Harold Roberts and his wife, Ann of Empire, and Sammy Roberts and his wife, Sandy of Empire; special niece, Diane Firestone of Empire; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
