MOODY — Curry scored first Friday night against Moody.

The Yellow Jackets also added the last touchdown.

Unfortunately for Curry, Moody did all the scoring in between as the Blue Devils picked up a 33-15 region win over the Yellow Jackets.

Curry’s Bradley Loggins threw a pair of touchdown passes on the day, but it wasn’t enough as the Jackets dropped their sixth straight game.

Curry opened the scoring with Loggins connecting with Lane Oliver on a 13-yard score for a 7-0 lead.

Moody (5-3, 3-3) responded with a pair of first-quarter scores. The first came on a Dee Williams 2-yard run to cut Curry’s lead to 7-6. Moody took the lead for good when quarterback Michael Barron hit Doug Barnes on a 29-yard touchdown pass with 22 seconds left in the opening quarter.

The Blue Devils held a 13-7 halftime lead after a scoreless second quarter.

Moody’s Corey Clayton connected on a pair of third-quarter field goals, hitting from 29 and 35 yards out for a 19-7 lead going into the final quarter.

Moody put the game away with two touchdowns in the fourth. Devanta Vandergrift scored on a 20-yard run at the 11:27 mark and Williams added a 20-yard run with 1:52 remaining for a 33-7 lead.

Curry’s Loggins connected with Tyler Hill on a 54-yard score with 1:11 left. Loggins hit Oliver for the 2-point conversion to close the scoring.

The Yellow Jackets (1-7, 0-6) stay in Walker County the final two weeks of the season. Curry hosts Hayden, which knocked off Center Point 20-19 for its first win of the season Friday night.
