The East Walker Chamber of Commerce will host its sixth annual Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Lee’s Restaurant in Sumiton.

The event will feature free health screenings that will include cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and sun damage evaluations. There will also be flu immunizations at the event.

Representatives from area businesses and organizations will also be there, including All Smoke Free, Advocare, home health services, hospice care, pharmacies and Durable Medical Equipment. Someone from a local grief support agency will also be there.

The event is free and open to the public.

“I think it makes the public more aware of various health issues they might overlook,” East Walker Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Chee-Vee Whitfield said. “It also affords people who might otherwise not be able to afford health screening the opportunity to be checked by professionals.”
