Three area football teams enter the playoffs ranked in the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll.

This week, Addison broke into the poll as the No. 9 team in Class 1A, joining both Dora and Oakman heading into Friday’s opening round of the state football playoffs.

Addison, which started the season 0-2 has won seven straight games —and got a forfeit win — to close with an 8-2 record. Since losing to Ragland in Week 2, the Bulldogs have allowed just 29 points.

Both Dora and Oakman moved up one spot in their respective classifications. Dora is No. 7 in Class 4A after a convincing 39-22 win over Handley in the regular-season finale. Oakman picked up a win over Berry and moved to No. 8 in Class 2A.
