"Our effort was real good," said Madison Academy head coach Eric Cohu. "We did really well offensively. We were hoping for the shutout but it didn't happen. A lot of guys contributed tonight. That's what happened."
After stopping the Yellow Jackets on their first possession, Madison Academy needed only one play to get in the end zone. Following a 44-yard punt return by Nick Haas to the 4-yard line, Malik Miller scored on the Mustangs first play from scrimmage. Chandler Trach's PAT made it 7-0.

Winston County replied with an 82-yard touchdown pass from Seth Blanton to Cody Henderson. The PAT was good to make the score 24-7.
