Two single-car accidents on Saturday morning claimed the lives of two Walker County men.

According to Walker County Coroner J.C. Poe, Jerami Michael Emberg, 33, of Jasper, was killed when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree near Nauvoo. Poe said 911 received the call out to Carbon Hill-Nauvoo Road at 2:37 a.m. Emberg was the only occupant in the vehicle. The Alabama State Troopers are investigating the death, as is standard procedure in traffic fatalities. Poe said Carbon Hill Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Rodney Keneth Lindsey, 46, of Cordova, was also killed when his vehicle left the road Saturday morning and struck a tree off River Road in Cordova. That emergency call was received at 4:49 a.m.

As with the other accident, Lindsey was the only occupant and Alabama State Troopers are investigating the traffic fatality. Cordova Fire and Rescue also responded to the scene.

“The cause of the accidents are still being investigated by the State Troopers,” Poe said.
