Athletic Arts Center in Jasper will present its fourth annual production of “The Nutcracker” this weekend.

Performances are scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rowland Auditorium on the Bevill State Community College campus.

Tickets are $10 and are available at www.tututix.com or 855-222-2TIX.

General admission tickets will also be sold at the door.

Maria Ross, owner of Athletic Arts Center, said there are several additions to this year’s performance, including expanded dancing and choreography.

“We have 14 adults that will be joining our party scene. That’s the most we’ve ever had,” Ross said.

The part of Clara’s younger brother Fritz has also been added to the ballet. The role will be played by Andrew Ross.

The Nutcracker will be portrayed by Ansley Baker, and Clara will be portrayed by Lonna Herron.

The cast totals more than 50, which includes 40 children.
