Barbara Ann Birmingham, 74, of Bremen, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Mauldin Cemetery. Earl Barnett and Wayne Williams will officiate. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Birmingham was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a proud member of the Dilworth Church of Christ. She was a very special woman and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Birmingham was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Birmingham; son, Michael Birmingham; parents, James H. Mauldin and Louie Ara Thompson Mauldin; brothers, Harold Lee Mauldin and James L. “Jimmy” Mauldin.

Survivors include her children, Tobbie Stover of Gardendale, Cathy Stover of Bremen, Jason Birmingham of Bremen; brothers, David Mauldin and wife Polly of Bremen, Sammy Mauldin and wife Anita of Empire; sisters Betty Mauldin of Empire, Candy Mauldin of Empire, Deborah Holt and husband David of Jasper; grandchildren Chris Cates, Eric Cates, Ashley Gober, Ara May, Stephanie Birmingham, and Kirsten Birmingham all of Bremen; and great-grandchildren, Layton Cates Bryce Cates, Connor May, and Channing Gober.

Pallbearers will be Roger Allen, Keith Mauldin, Heath Holt, Chris Cates, Eric Cates, Barry Mauldin, and Dennis Mauldin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Neil Hicks and James Cooper.
