Dorothia “Dot” Boyer, 91, of Jasper, passed away on Dec. 14, 2012, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. She was a loving wife, gracious hostess, gardener, member of First Baptist Church, giver, friend and letter writer.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. The Rev. John Jaye will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Boyer; parents, Chester and Fleecie Jane Lawrence; and brother, Howard Lawrence.

She is survived by her siblings, Chester Lawrence, James Lawrence and Pat Lawrence; beloved cousin, Montae Cain; sisters-in-law, Ruth Boyer, Elayne Kirkland Lawrence and Martha Lawrence; nieces and nephews, Mathew (Donna) Lawrence, Rob Lawrence, Carol (Don) Danforth, Glenda Mullin, Pastor Judi (Ken) Brown, Sherri (David) Battles, Jamie O’Rourke, Mary (Paul) Duke, Lucy Williams, Peggy (George) Dennis, P.J. Majik, Alvin Miller, James Miller, Anita (Ray) Ratchup, Dennis (Wanda) Williams, Mark (Becky) Williams, Kelly Johnson; and so many more in the next generation and the one after that.
