Gail Hutchens Sanders, 73, of Pinson, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 29, 2012. She graduated in 1957 from Oakman High School and worked for Birmingham Trust National Bank before becoming a full time homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Reydonia Hutchens; and sisters, Flora Hutchens and Lillian Pope.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Noel Sanders; sons, Hoyt (Cande) Sanders of Pinson, and Kevin (Mare Cris) Sanders of Angeles City, Philippines; grandsons, Will and Evan Sanders, of Pinson; brothers, James (Wilma) Hutchens, of Cullman, Corry (Virginia) Hutchens, of Hoover, Eugene Hutchens, of Huntsville, A.C. (Shirley) Hutchens, of Chelsea, and Wallace (Brenda) Hutchens of Pinson; sisters, Ann Norsworthy, of Pinson, Emily (Bob) Taylor, of Pinson, and Betty Carraway of Birmingham; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Pinson from 8:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Marvin’s Chapel Cemetery in Pinson. Memorials may be made to the Kevin Sanders Missionary Fund at First Baptist Church Pinson, 4036 Spring Street Pinson, AL 35126.
