Linda Sue McGee Russell, 70, of Jasper, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at her residence surrounded by family and loved ones. Funeral services will be at noon Monday, Jan. 14. 2013, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born Dec. 23, 1942. She came to Jasper in 1990 and was the original owner of Hickoryland BBQ. She loved being around people and helping others. She loved life and always had a smile on her face like no other. Her heart was also held by her favorite friend and puppy, Sissy. Our family would like to offer great thanks to the members of Alacare Home Health Hospice. Special thanks to Misty Trotter and Amy Belk for your kind hearts and doing such a great job. Also, thanks to Dr. Jeremy Blackwell.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clay McGee; and mother, Eva Irene Wheeler McGee.

She is survived by her husband, Glen O’Neal Russell of Jasper; daughters, Sheila Gurley of Warrior, Debra (Randy) Evans of Cordova, Sabra (Chris) Clark of Jasper, and Brandy Russell; sons, Kenny (Susan) Pharris, Greg Sparks of Jasper and Brock Russell of Jasper; brothers, Todd McGee of Vernon and Ted (Diane) McGee; grandchildren, Seth Pharris, Cody Reynolds, Sabryna Gurley, Kris Secrest, Hayden Russell, Leith Mitchell, Ashlyn Mitchell, Memorie Clark, Amber Hayes, Dakota Drummond, Eli Drummond, Chelsea Russell; pet dog, Sissy; and a host of nieces, nephews and family members.

Pallbearers will be Greg Sparks, Cody Reynolds, Kris Secrest, Leith Mitchell, Brock Russell and Seth Pharris.
