Frank Denton Staggs, 83, of Cordova, passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at his residence. He retired from the US Airforce with 23 years, 3 months and 9 days of honorable service to his country. His military career included serving in Korea and Vietnam. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren but his love for God was the strongest. He fought the fight and won the race to be with his heavenly father.

Visitation was held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Parlor. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens. Dale Jacks, John Billy Butler and Kip Cordell will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph C. Staggs Sr.; mother, Jessie Padgett Staggs; sisters, Monteen Leach and Lucille Tidwell; and brothers, Joseph C. (Joe) Staggs Jr. and Jerry Dennis Staggs.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara McFarland Staggs of Cordova; sons, Dale Staggs of Moulton and Doug (Kim) Staggs of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters-in-law, Brenda Staggs of Moulton and Sandra Staggs of Los Angelos, Calif.; step-daughters, Cheryl Britt of Jasper and Brenda (Harold) Aaron of Jasper; stepson, Steve (Lawanda) Kulick of Jasper; sister, Evelyn Staggs of Chicago, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
