Kelsey Stracner led Cordova with 17 points for the game and sank five baskets from three-point range. Alexis Cooper contributed with 10 points, while Jessica Willingham had 8 points.
“I thought we played a real good game – we wanted to establish defensive pressure early and score some easy transition baskets, which is part of our game plan,” Cordova coach Randy Stracner said. “Once we were able to mount the tempo to our favor, we were able to control the entire game. It was a great effort by our girls.”
The Blue Devils scored 16 unanswered points to begin the game, posting a 16-2 lead at the end of the first period. Cordova continued to perform well on offense and defense in the second period, outscoring Parrish 11-5 to take a 27-7 lead into the half. The Blue Devils continued to roll with a 19-4 third period scoring edge to remain on top, 46-11, en route to the 57-17 final.
Cordova will face the top-seeded Carbon Hill Bulldogs on Thursday at 5:45 p.m. Parrish takes on Carbon Hill today at 5:45 p.m.
Dora 44, Oakman 13
Dora took a 9-2 lead over Oakman in the first period, before outscoring the Wildcats 18-3 in the second period for a 25-7 halftime lead. The Bulldogs posted a 11-3 third period effort to stay on top, 38-8, before securing the 44-13 win. Yashea Chapel led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points.
Dora takes on the Curry Yellow Jackets at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, while Oakman faces Curry today at 3:15 p.m.
Curry 44, Dora 32
Ella Banks led the Lady Yellow Jackets with 24 points. Curry faces the Cordova Blue Devils in the girls junior varsity championship game on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
Cordova 25, Carbon Hill 22
Blakeney Guthrie and Hayley Eatman had 8 points each to lead the Lady Blue Devils. Cordova will take on the Curry Yellow Jackets in the girls junior varsity championship game on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.

Roderick Eppenger and Jacob Hendrix scored 9 points each to lead the Cordova Blue Devils. Cordova faces Dora on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
Carbon Hill 49, Curry 24
Jonah Johnson had 13 points to lead Carbon Hill. Carbon Hill takes on Oakman on Thursday at 5:45 p.m.
