John Thaddeus Cook, 65, of Powder Springs, Ga., passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Ga. Dr. Ernest Easley will officiate.

A native of Jasper, Mr. Cook was a proud graduate of the University of Alabama and was active in the Alumni Club. After moving to Powder Springs 36 years ago, he worked at Lockheed for 22 years. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having served during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lavada Joan Cook; five children, Jean C. Mackey of Cumming, Ga., Susan Marie Radloff (Joel) of Wausau, Wisconsin, Fred D. Cook of Sheffield, Michael Fred Cook (Casey) of Douglasville, Ga., and Leah Fay Delpozzo of Dallas, Ga.; mother, Bethel Townley Cook of Jasper; four siblings, Manley Cook of Arizona, Thomas Cook of Jasper, Ga., George Cook of Jasper, Robert Cook of Jasper, and Cathy Cook of Birmingham; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roswell Street Baptist Church, 774 Roswell Street, Marietta, Ga. 30060.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
