Zola D. Abbott, 85, of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. She was a long time member of Jasper First Baptist Church. She was a teacher in the Jasper City School System for 27 years, most of the time at T.R. Simmons. She was married to her husband, John Abbott Sr. for more than 66 years.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until noon today, Feb. 19, 2013, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at noon today, Feb. 19, 2013, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens. Dennis Culbreath will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mabel DeLozier; sisters, Norma Darby and Helen Hayes; and brother, Charles DeLozier.

She is survived by her husband, John H. Abbott Sr.; sons, Kenneth Abbott and wife, Connie, and John H. Abbott and wife, Betty; daughter, Linda Wright; grandchildren, Stephanie Lane and husband, Stephan, Crystal Harvison and husband, Tony, Neil Abbott, Elliott Abbott and wife, Natalie, Harrison Abbott and wife, Hannah and Morgan Abbott; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Neil Abbott, Elliott Abbott, Harrison Abbott, Christopher Ellis, Tony Harvison and Stephan Lane.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stephanie Lane, Crystal Harvison, Morgan Abbott, Brooke Dozier, Britney Lawson, Tyler Brunner and Phobie Abbott.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Jasper Building Fund-Children’s Wing.
