Lotta Sue Carver Johns, 78, of Pinson, passed away on May 16, 2013, at Trinity Medical Center. She was born on June 15, 1934. Mrs. Johns was retired from the Birmingham News as a Personnel Director’s Assistant. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, Auburn football, Dale Earnhardt Jr., the beach and people watching.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. “Buck” and Flora Agnes Jenkins Carver; and brother, Kenneth Carver.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Johns (Jackie) of Oneonta; grandchildren, Karissa Lang (Aaron) of Decatur, Skylar Everett (Kelli) of Leeds and Sarah Pettus (Edward) of Albertville; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace, Crawford, Tillman and Cooper; daughter, Glynda Summerlin (Steve) of Pinson; granddaughter, Jessica Summerlin of Pinson; great-grandchild, Ryder; nephews, Michael and Brian Carver; and a host of other beloved relatives.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Lemley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013, at Good Hope Cemetery. Bro. Andrew Talley will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Lang, Skylar Everett, Edward Pettus and Kenneth Fine.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
