A Jasper man died early Sunday morning when he was hit by a vehicle while walking along Blackwell Dairy Road near Walker Baptist Medical Center.

Adam Wesley Myers, 32, was walking south on Blackwell Dairy Road when he was hit by the passing vehicle. The driver of the vehicle left the scene.

Walker County coroner J.C. Poe said Myers was found just before 4 a.m. Poe said an autopsy was performed to aid in the investigation of the incident.

On the Eagle’s Facebook page, numerous comments were posted urging the driver of the vehicle to come forward. “He was a very sweet man and was dearly loved by anyone who knew him. I will also pray for the driver of the vehicle, that you will have the decency to come forward, and give this family some closure, especially his young children,” one person said in a post.

Anyone with information about Myers’ death is asked to call the Walker County Sheriff’s Office at (205) 302-6464.
