Naomi Busby, 84, of Empire, went home to be with the Lord from her residence on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.

Visitation will be today, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at 6 p.m. at Bell Funeral Home in Sumiton and Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, from 1 until 2 p.m., at Owens Chapel Church of God.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Owens Chapel Church of God with burial to follow in New Canaan Cemetery. Rev. Mark Brand and Rev. Leland Tingle will officiate.

Sister Naomi was the last surviving charter member of Owens Chapel Church of God. Preceding her in death were her husband, Oliver Busby, Jr.; father, Clarence Gossett; mother, Velma McBride; sister, Rosa B. Busby; brother, Theodore Gossett; grandson, Randy Busby, Jr.; and infant granddaughter, Jennifer Busby.

Survivors include her children, Dana Carolyn Pennington and her husband, Jerry, Clyde L. Busby and his wife, Daphne, and Randy C. Busby; grandchildren, Belinda Kaye Blankenship and her husband, Lonnie, Jeremy Pennington and his wife, Tamie, Jason Pennington, Brandi Davenport and her husband, Randy, and Dana Manasco and her husband Brian; sisters, Melba Watkins, Ida Gail Tingle and her husband, Leland, and Ruth Gossett; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
