Addison (38-5) made it a sweep on the day, also winning junior high and junior varsity county championships.
Addison knocked off Winston County in back-to-back matches to win the double-elimination varsity tournament. The Bulldogs won the title match 25-12, 25-16.
“I felt we played with a lot of intensity,” Addison volleyball coach Pam Wilkins said. “I thought we played well.”
In its first match against Winston County, Addison dropped its first game to the Yellow Jackets, but rallied for a 21-25, 25-19, 15-9 victory.
Addison, the No. 1 team in Class 1A, opened the tournament with a 25-13, 25-12 win over Lynn.
Winston County finished as the tournament runner up with Meek taking third and Lynn fourth.
Addison juniors Summer Hinton and Holly Posey were named co-MVPs of the tournament. Teammates Jessy Taylor and Kayla Robinson joined Hinton and Posey on the All-Tournament team.
On the day, Hinton had 31 kills and 21 digs, Posey had 74 assists, 19 digs, seven blocks and six kills. Taylor added 20 kills, 13 blocks, nine digs and seven aces. Robinson had 13 digs, 11 kills, seven blocks and four aces while Jessica Benton had 10 kills and eight blocks.
Addison will recognize its five seniors during a home tri-match on Monday.
Seniors on this year’s squad are: Robinson, Sarra Martin, Kaitlyn Russell, Kelsey Denson and Lauren Cutcher.
