Peggy Wallace Brewer, 80, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. She was a loving wife and mother of two.

Funeral services will be today, Oct. 25, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in Lynn Cemetery in Graysville. The Rev. Butch Summers will officiate.

Visitation was held Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee “Jimmy” Brewer, who had retired after 24 years in the United States Navy. Brewer traveled all over the United States with her children and her husband. They returned to Alabama where Peggy worked and retired from Alabama Power Company. She was a member of Evangel Assembly of God in Gardendale. She was a graduate of Corner High School.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ola Mae Wallace; father, Oscar Wallace; and a brother, Oscar Jean Wallace.

Her survivors include her son, James Mike Brewer and his wife, Susan; daughter, Patti Lynn Dyke and her husband, Frank; grandchildren, Joanna Helen Dyke, Jonathan Lee Dyke and his wife, Hillary, and Jason Elliot Dyke and his wife, Sunny; and Peggy’s sister, Emma Lou Hollis.
