There were several events held Saturday that served as fundraisers for Lane Clark, a 14-year-old Maddox Middle School student recently diagnosed with T-cell leukemia. They were just a few of the many fundraisers that have been held since Clark’s diagnosis was made just a few weeks ago.

At each event, there were large crowds of people who came out on a beautiful Saturday to help someone in need.

Clark, the son of Jasper Fire Chief David Clark and his wife Sherry, is currently hospitalized at Children’s of Alabama undergoing chemo treatments, and no doubt his family is more than appreciative of the love and support that’s been shown for their son in the past two weeks.

It’s heartwarming to see that kind of support for a young person who’s going through the most difficult battle of his short life.

It’s our hope that that kind of support will continue to be shown for Clark and for any other resident of Walker County who needs love and compassion and a little help when facing such a difficult time in their life.
