Visitation will be today, Nov. 7, 2013, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be graveside Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Walker Memory Gardens. Father Ray Keiser will officiate.
Bennett was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She finished school at Incarnate Word Academy, a Catholic school for girls. She then finished Houston Business College. She was a translator fluent in Spanish for T.R. Simmons Elementary School in Jasper. Yolanda had many talents. She was a gourmet cook, played piano, both in Spanish and English, and had a beautiful singing voice. The most beautiful thing about her was her personality; she never met a stranger and never disliked anyone. Yes, Yogie will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amadeo and Chole Recio.
She is survived by her husband, Nathan Bennett; son, Nathan Keith Bennett (Leanne); daughter, Karenlyn Bishop (Greg); granddaughters, Crimson L. Bennett and Lily Paige Bishop; special niece, Nancy Currie; and special friends, Susie McLean and Susan Blackburn.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Williams, Joe Turner, Chip Willingham, Donald Bobbitt, Don Jones and Michael McCain.
