Hebron Silas Ford Jr., 68, of Dora, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at his residence. He attended the Alabama School for the Deaf; he was president of the Dixie Deaf Bowling Association; he was an avid hunter; and he was formerly employed at Paul’s Restaurant in Sumiton and at New Horizon Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be today, Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Elders Charles Kitchens and Silas Ford will officiate. Burial will follow at New Horizon Memorial Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hebron and Evia Ford Sr.; his brother, Charles Ford; and his father-in-law, Paul Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Johnson Ford; his children, Hebron Sean Ford of Jasper, Kimberly Ford (Jeremy Stewart) of Dora, and Silas Lee Ford and his wife, Tera, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Ariel Hope Ford, Austin Ford, Zachary Stewart, Caden Stewart, Jolee Ford, and Brennan Silas Ford; sisters, Mary Ruth Molay of Pinson and Teresia Wiley of Hayden; brothers, Donnie Ford of Cullman, Dwight Ford of Arab and Mark Ford of Holly Pond; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Jimmy V. Foundation for Cancer Research, 106 Tower View Court, Cary, N.C. 27513.
