Ansley Beth Kilgore, 19, Blake Alexander Reed, 20, Michael Brock Arnold, 20, and Dylan Bryant Lavelle Watson, 18, all of Walker County, were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery. Watson was also charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Cullman County Chief Deputy Max Bartlett said the 20-year-old victim was restrained after allegedly being lured to a secluded area off Alabama Highway 69, beaten and robbed while one of the suspects kept a 12-gauge shotgun pointed at him. After the attack, the victim allegedly ran to his car to drive away from the scene and hit Arnold, rolling his attacker over the top of the vehicle, injuring his leg. In turn, Watson then allegedly fired three rounds into the victim’s car.
“The victim was meeting Kilgore, who I was told was an ex-girlfriend, at a remote area when three masked men also exited the vehicle, began attacking the victim and then stole the victim’s wallet, money, and phone,” Bartlett said. “Our officer responded to the scene and met the victim who then described his attackers and provided the name of the female and the license plate number on the vehicle.”
Bartlett said investigators Justin Tyce, Doug Duke and Joey Clark took statements from the suspects and witnesses and recovered evidence from the scene, including shell casings.
“The Walker County Sheriff’s office was notified shortly after the incident and they were able to locate and pull over the vehicle on a felony warrant stop,” Bartlett said. “They recovered the 12-gauge shotgun used in the incident, also. At this point it appears the victim was lured there so the suspects could rob him.”
Kilgore, Reed, Arnold and Watson are each being held at the Cullman County Detention Center. Their bond amounts have not yet been posted.
“Our investigators have done a great job collecting evidence from the scene and handling this case,” Bartlett said.
The victim was not identified.
