Holiday music and a showing of “White Christmas” will be part of the Bankhead House and Heritage Center’s holiday open house on Saturday.

There will be several performances throughout the afternoon leading up to Saturday Night Cinema in the amphitheatre at 6 p.m.

A string and flute ensemble featuring the Jessup family and Pat Putman will perform at approximately 2:15 p.m. and again at 3:20 p.m.

A group of Charles Dickens Carolers — Eddie Brown, Leslie Cummings, Jennifer Humphries, Nick Thomas, Sonya Webb and Bill Young Sr. — will provide the entertainment at 2:30 p.m. and 3:40 p.m.

The Bevill State Community College Concert Choir will take the floor at 2:50 p.m.

The house, which is located on West Seventh Street in Jasper, will be open for visitors to see the current exhibit, “A Tribute to our Military,” which ends this month.

The showing of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” at 6 p.m. is sponsored by the city of Jasper, Walker Area Community Foundation, Walker County Arts Alliance and the Walker County Bar Association.

The open house, as well as the movie, are free events. In case of rain, “White Christmas” will be shown at Swann Gym in Memorial Park.

Alcoholic beverages are not allowed at either facility.
