Two professional anglers are in Jasper this week to film an episode of their national TV show at Lewis Smith Lake.

Ray Brazier and Charlie Ingram, co-hosts of “Fishing University” on The Outdoor Channel, will be filming at the lake Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

A meet-and-greet is planned for 7 p.m. today at Captain D’s. Brazier and Ingram will be on hand to speak with fans, take photos and sign autographs.

The event is free to the public.

“We’re looking forward to having them in our community and spotlighting not only the lake but our county,” said Linda Lewis, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Walker County.

“Fishing University” is currently in its 27th year, according to its website. The show airs on The Outdoor Channel on Saturdays at 3:30 p.m., Sundays at 7 a.m., and Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m.

The episode filmed at Lewis Smith Lake is expected to air three times in March and three times in June.

Captain D's CEO Phil Greifeld and the company’s top franchisee, Jim McClure, will accompany Brazier and Ingram on their outing on Smith Lake.

Ingram has more than 35 years experience as a professional angler.

He started his professional fishing career on the B.A.S.S. trail and was the first angler to ever win three tournaments in one calendar year. He is an eight-time qualifier for the Bassmaster Classic.

Brazier has been an angler for more than 20 years. He was a manager at a subsidiary of Coors before beginning his fishing career.

Besides fishing tournaments, Brazier also helps design boat performance products.
