DME, Son’s partner to give away $1,000 in groceries

The Daily Mountain Eagle and Jasper grocer Son’s Super Market on 9th Avenue are partnering to offer a $1,000 grocery giveaway as part of the newspaper’s ongoing monthly subscription efforts in 2014.

“The Lee family has been a loyal customer of this newspaper for many years. This is just one way that we can show them our appreciation,” said publisher Jack McNeely.

According to McNeely, the newspaper will continue to partner with advertising clients throughout the year to help build its readership family one new subscriber at a time.

Todd Lee of Son’s Super Market said the lucky winner of the Feb. 28 drawing would receive an in-store credit of $1,000.

“We thank the Daily Mountain Eagle for considering Son’s Super Market for its monthly subscription special and funding the $1,000 giveaway,” Lee said.

The newspaper kicked off its monthly new subscriber giveaway in January by partnering with Handy TV to give away a 55-inch LG LED Smart TV valued at nearly $1,300. New subscriber William Lollar of Jasper won the television set from a drawing held Friday from nearly 50 new customers that signed up in January.

Any new subscriber that signs up this month to either a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month home delivery subscription will be entered into the Feb. 28 drawing. Deadline to subscribe and be included in the drawing is 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27.

A 3-month subscription costs $31.50 and comes with one entry, a 6-month subscription costs $63 and comes with two entries while a 12-month subscriptions costs $126 and comes with four entries.

January’s winner, Lollar, subscribed for a year, thus, received four entries in the drawing for the brand new television.

McNeely estimates that each entry has a better than 1-in-100 chance of winning the $1,000 grocery giveaway.
