City, county welcomes anglers to Lewis Smith Lake

More than 300 pro and amateur anglers from across the country are in Jasper this week as part of the Bassmaster Southern Open on Lewis Smith Lake. Anglers met at the Community Health Systems Activities Center Wednesday afternoon to register for the three-day tournament and were welcomed to the county by Walker County Commission Chairman Billy Luster, Jasper City Council members Sandi Sudduth and Jennifer Williams Smith and Chamber of Commerce of Walker County president Linda Lewis.
